Skills Success for Painting and Decorating Students.
We're incredibly proud to announce that Holly Hall and Hayden Conroy achieved two podium places at the BTX Learner of the Year Competition.
The two inspiring Level 2 Painting and Decorating Apprentices, Hayden and Holly, travelled to Wigan and Leigh Skills Academy to take part in the prestigious competition.
A huge congratulations and thank you to our Tutors and Students for bringing home the win and representing the College at the highest level.

Science Explorers ON TOUR! 🧪
Our incredible Science, Health and Education Division visited Reedley Hallows Nursery School to give students a taster session about the exciting world of science.
The children made volcanoes erupt, including a cool 3D-printed one, made by our expert Engineering Team. They inflated balloons using chemical reactions and explored what sinks or floats in a baking soda and vinegar solution.
More members of the BC Family will be heading over to the nursery for five more session after Easter, so keep following us to see more exciting science experiments!

A Wild Experience for Students at Chester Zoo: Discovering Our Primate Cousins and Their Behaviours!
70 A Level Students visited Chester Zoo to look at our evolutionary ancestors including chimpanzees and monkeys.
Students learned how human behaviours are similar to those of animals and used their knowledge about the bond between children and their caregivers to further understand both humans and primates.

A Level Destinations Day at Burnley College!
This exciting, enriching event returned this week to immerse A Level Students in a diverse range of subjects and career paths.
Highlights included:
🎬 Secrets of Screenwriting: Students gained valuable insights into the world of TV as we welcomed one of the storyline writers of the hugely popular British TV soap Emmerdale
🧠 Becoming a Forensic Psychologist: Attendees got a taste of what it's like to be a forensic psychologist and the perfect pathway to pursue this career
🔬 Bioscience Careers in Cancer: Interactive biosciences workshop with the University of Manchester focused on different areas of cancer, including prevention, treatment and research
📐 Mathematics STEM - UCLAN: Students explored the Mathematics opportunities available at UCLAN, with guest speaker Davide Penazzi.

Early Years Learners create Tech-tastic Digital Stories.
T Level Education and Early Years Students took on an engaging Digital Storytelling Challenge, using "book creator" aps to bring their stories to life.
By integrating digital tools, our Learners explored how technology can be used effectively to boost communication, cognitive development and learning experiences for young children.

Our Survey Says.... Top-Tier Construction Skills!
T level Design, Surveying and Planning Students have made the most of the fully-equipped wooden home in our Carpentry and Joinery workshop.
Learners used state-of-the-art equipment to gather millimetre-perfect measurements to input into industry standard CAD software and create a working model of the house.
It teaches them the skills they will need everyday in the construction industry.
It's one of the myriad of ways Burnley College prepares learners to excel in their future careers.

Burnley College’s IT team celebrate sustainability success – By recycling, refurbishing and reusing tech, Burnley College has planted the equivalent of a small forest.
Burnley College is dedicated to creating a more sustainable future, a passion shared by Students and Staff alike.
We’ve been working with leading sustainability champions Recycle-IT, based here in Burnley, to reduce our carbon footprint by recycling our old computers and buying refurbished lap-tops where appropriate.
