About the course
This course that meets demand for skills in the growing
Esports Industry, a market valued at over $2 billion. Esports offers a unique
opportunity to study a sector that crosses multiple subject areas such as
sport, marketing, enterprise, IT and creatives. If you want to progress to
employment in the Esports industry, either via an Apprenticeship or University
level, this could be the course for you. It is a career focused qualification
endorsed by the British Esports Association. It is recognised by employers and
will sup-port your entry into the industry in a range of roles. The College
works in partnership with Burnley FC as the pro team development squad and
compete as the Burnley FC Esports Academy Bees.

Assessment
The course is 100% coursework and has no external assessment. Learners will produce analysis reports, presentations, pitches for business, YouTube tutorial videos, and live stream broadcasting as methods of assessment. Learners get ongoing feedback throughout the projects as well as summative feedback at the end of each unit.
Careers & Progression
Become a part of the world of esports, in roles such as Stream Assistant, Content Editor (Junior), Social Media Assistant, Marketing Intern, Content Creator (Trainee), Team Assistant, Esports Event Crew Tournament Admin (Junior), Technical Support Assistant. Or continue your studies at University or our HNC/D in Esports here at BCUC. You can also study for an Apprenticeship in a marketing etc

Access to a laptop/computer and an internet connection

The college has a dedicated esports arena, with extremely highpowered gaming PCs, mice, keyboards and latest gen consoles. You will also use media studios for photography, filming, editing and streaming. These include studio lighting, cameras and tripods as well as green screens. We have multiple Apple Mac suites all with the full Adobe Creative Cloud installed. Learners will also have access to Adobe Creative Suite via the cloud at home
Enrichment Activities
As part of the course, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities that extend beyond the classroom and connect you directly with the world of competitive gaming and digital enterprise. You’ll be invited to trial for one of our competitive college Esports teams, representing the college in the British Esports Student Championships and other national tournaments. We partner with Burnley Football Club Esports, giving you access to exclusive work experience placements on match days. You’ll also have the chance to take part in residential trips to major Esports and gaming events, such as TwitchCon Europe, where you’ll connect with global creators, industry professionals, and new technologies. Previous learners have also travelled internationally to New York and Paris.
