About the course
Within T Level Health, you can specialise in: Supporting the Adult Nursing Team, Supporting the Care of Children and Young People or Supporting the Midwifery Team.
There are 3 core elements to this T Level: Core academic scientific skills in Biology and Anatomy & Physiology. Industry-specialist skills and knowledge in Healthcare and your chosen occupational specialism.
You will spend time in the classroom and state of the art health simulation environments in College as well as completing a mandatory 315 hours of placement in a suitable setting across the 2 years of study. Our Tutors include industry specialists with previous careers in the health sector.
You will study overall care needs to ensure comfort and wellbeing, assist registered health professionals with clinical and therapeutic tasks and interventions, psychological measurements, clinical tasks, meeting daily needs and care.

Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above including English and Mathematics or a relevant Level 2 qualification.
This course is subject to a cleared enhanced DBS check.

Year 1:

Year 2:
Supporting the Adult Nursing: PO1: Assist the adult nursing team with clinical tasks PO2: Support individuals to meet activities of daily living PO3: Assist with skin integrity assessments and with the care and treatment of skin condition.
Supporting the Care of Children and Young People: Performance outcome 1: Assist with clinical tasks and treatment for children and young people Performance outcome 2: Provide care and support to children and young people before, during and after clinical or therapeutic procedures Performance outcome 3: Support parents, families and carers to meet the needs of the children and young people.
Supporting the Midwifery Team: PO1: Assist the midwifery team with clinical tasks PO2: Assist the midwife to provide care for mothers and support to parents at all stages, from antenatal, perinatal and postnatal PO3: Assist with the care of newborn babies by undertaking observations and measurements.
Assessment
You will be assessed by a combination of exam assessment, project work and synoptic assessment.Year 1: Core component: • 2 written examinations • Employer set project (ESP)Graded A*- E and UYear 2: Occupational specialism component • a case study assessment • 2 practical activities assessments: one for the core: Supporting Healthcare, and one for the occupational specialism • a professional discussionGraded Pass, Merit or Distinction

Subject-specific activities and visits are organised to
bring learning to life and help you to achieve your ambitions. You will enjoy
seminars and workshops led by guest speakers. Past and planned activities and
visits include: Dental Technician taster days at Bolton University, Pendleside
Hospice day trip, University of Cumbria taster day.
