About the course

HNC Electrical and Electronic-The Pearson BTEC Level 4 HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering for England is a one-year vocational qualification designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and behaviors employers seek in the electrical and electronic engineering sector. As a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ), it combines theoretical learning with practical application to prepare individuals for careers in areas such as design, manufacturing, and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment. The course can serve as a pathway to employment or further study, including a Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma.

Entry Requirements

BTEC Level 3 qualification in Engineering 

GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject. This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades at A* to C (or equivalent) and/or 9 to 4 (or equivalent) in subjects such as Mathematics and English 

Other related Level 3 qualifications

Access to Higher Education Diploma from an approved further education institution

Relevant work experience

An international equivalent to the above qualifications.

The Level 4 units lay the foundation of learning by providing a broad introduction to the engineering sector as well as a focused introduction to electrical and electronic engineering. This develops and strengthens core skills while preparing students for more specialist subjects at Level 5 or to enter employment with the qualities necessary for job roles that require some personal responsibility.
