About the course
This course will
promote confidence and competence within active fitness surroundings. Top of
the range fitness equipment and technology will enable you to thrive among
industry leading professionals. You will take part in group work and individual
practice to improve your communication skills, collaboration, self-management,
adaptability, resilience and development. The course will fully prepare you for
a career within the fitness industry as it prepares you for roles within sports
clubs as a fitness instructor with an accreditation from the Chartered
Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).

Assessment
Each unit is 100% internally assessed in order to demonstrate the key skills, knowledge and behaviours required to work within the fitness industry as a gym instructor. This will include practical demonstration, client based consultation, presentation and written reports that are key to industry.
Careers & Progression
You may choose to progress onto the Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sport, Fitness and Personal Training or Sport and Exercise Science, further industry qualifications or a role in the fitness industry such as Fitness or Gym Instructor.

All learning materials, workbooks and practical equipment required for learning is provided, and all students get access to Fitness Evo gym and studio facilities for training and assessments.
Enrichment Activities
Take part in weekly practical Industry Skills, join the differing Burnley College Sports Academies, regular industry guest speakers and potential visits to local external sporting activities such as Padel tennis, golf,, kayaking and Padel Board.
