Fantastic Fieldwork Adventures in Keswick for A Level Students
Our A Level Geography and Environmental Science Students enjoyed an incredible 3-day residential in the Lake District.
Staying at the Keswick Youth Hostel, Students explored both human and physical geography while travelling through the bustling town of Keswick to the breathtaking heights of Cat Bells.
Highlights included:
Investigating ancient history at Castlerigg Stone Circle.
Calculating the carbon content of trees at the serene Friars Crag.
Engaging in real-world geographical studies that brought classroom learning to life.
A special mention to Hope Parkinson, 17, who studies A Level Photography who shot all the beautiful pictures used in this post – well done Hope!
A huge well done to the Students for their enthusiasm and curiosity — and thank you to the Staff who made it all possible!

Congratulations to two amazing Themis Apprentices who made the finals of the prestigious BTX Learner of the Year Competition.
Level 2 Painter and Decorators, Holly Hall, 17, from Burnley, who works at Willowbank HFE and Hayden Conroy, 19, from Colne who works at Conroy & Son, battled it out to come a close joint third at the finals.
BTX is a leading education platform which supports learners and tutors in multiple industries from construction and engineering to hairdressing.
