Sixth Form
Throughout your studies at Sixth Form, your Tutor will be monitoring your progress, helping you to improve your study skills and overcome any barriers you may be facing to learning to ensure you can progress to the next appropriate level.
You will also have the opportunity to visit universities across the UK to sample university life and discover more about how your favourite subject is taught at degree level, as well as enjoying residential stays to take part in specialist courses and contests.
Within College, we stage events to help you develop the skills which are sought by universities when recruiting to popular courses for which there is always great demand. Our termly Student Development Days provide a plethora of diverse and exciting activities to help increase your self-confidence, team-working and innovation skills, as well as enhancing your communication and problem-solving skills.
Our annual Careers Week also includes vital information on the university application process; boosting your university application; preparing for life at university and potential gap year activities.
Universities are invited into College for an annual advice event – which is also open to parents – to give you an introduction to the UCAS process; give you a flavour of the different university-level institutions available and the subjects you could study and offer insights into the qualification levels needed to progress academically.
Specialist UCAS advisors are on hand to guide you through the university application process and ensure that your application stands out from the crowd, with specific guidance for those students applying for Oxbridge places.
Parents/guardians will be kept informed of your academic progress throughout the year via regular parents’ evenings and will be contacted immediately in the event of concerns over your progress.
For Themis Apprentices, we offer specialist advice and guidance on gaining the university-level qualifications or industry-specific additional qualifications which can help to fast-track your career and become a #futureboss.
