Travel and Transport to Burnley College Sixth Form Centre

Our vibrant town centre Campus is within easy reach of public transport links.

However you travel to College, we can support you in finding the best route, advise on parking or bicycle hire/storage, check if you are eligible for free or subsidised transport (conditions apply).

A bus or train timetable may not exactly match your academic timetable. This is a great opportunity for you to take advantage of our free breakfast offer at College or use one of our Active Learning Zones for independent study.

You’re entitled to the  First Term Student Travel Card. This pass can be used in the evenings and at weekends too!

From Halifax to Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd to Todmorden, this pass will make sure your journey to College is a smooth one.

BUS TRAVEL INCENTIVE

Your bus pass could be free…

If you achieve 100% attendance in a term, we will reimburse you the full cost of your bus pass (term 2 & 3 are combined). You may also be eligible for free travel, depending on your household income (subject to conditions). Contact student services for more info: s.services@old.burnleycollegedev.co.uk

Bus passes for your preferred route (valid seven days a week, including evenings and weekends)  can be purchased in advance via College each term. 

Themis Apprentices can access discounted bus travel via Lancashire County Council. Contact us for more information.

TRAIN TRAVEL

By Rail

The Burnley trainline covers much of the surrounding towns and villages around Burnley including Blackburn which is a 30 minute rail journey. The trip is long enough to watch an episode of your favourite TV show, chat to friends, or catch up on some studying.

Rail passes/tickets can be bought directly from the train operator and are not subject to any College incentives. However, you may be eligible for a travel grant for free or subsidised rail travel depending on your income (subject to conditions).
