Sixth Form Students and Apprentices
Whatever route you are taking – A Levels, Vocational study, T Levels, or a Themis Apprenticeship – our friendly, knowledgeable Student Support advisors are here to help you with any financial queries you may have. Ask for advice and guidance on how you can get free meals in College, transport, trips and study materials depending on your household income (subject to conditions). Register your account:
You will need to input your student ID, date of birth and create a password. An email verification will be sent to your student and personal email address – activate this and log in with your student ID, date of birth and password you just created.
Your application:
- Click the button which days ‘click here to process with your application for funding’
- Please ensure you check all your details are correct and real all of the information on each page. Leave the name of campus as Burnley College
- Answer the eligibility questions
- Upload all the relevant evidence of your parent’s household income
- Provide bank details
- Double check all of your answers and evidence is correct
- Once your application has been assessed, a member of the Support Team will be in contact
In Care, Care Leaver or Living Independently (16-18)
If you are classed as a ‘looked-after’ individual, a care leaver or are living independently whilst studying at sixth form level, you may be able to apply for an additional bursary to help cover any costs at College. To find out more, please contact a member of the Student Support team, or the Safeguarding team.
All students travelling to College by bus are able to purchase a discounted travel pass from our WisePay store. If a student received 100% attendance in term 1, and in term 2 and 3 combined, the cost of the bus passes can be reimbursed. Financial support is available for free bus passes for low income households.
Those who are Themis Apprentices, and under the age of 19, can access free travel courtesy of Lancashire County Council’s Young People’s Transport Scheme. Please contact a member of the Student Support team, or visit Student Services to collect a form.
Students who travel by train to College can receive support towards train fares. Students will be required to apply for financial support to access this funding, and household income will be assessed.
Trips and Equipment
We want to make sure that you have the best time at College. Many courses arrange incredible trips for our students, and we want to make sure that all students have an opportunity to experience this. Financial support is available for trips and essential equipment for your course. Students will be required to apply for financial support in order to access this funding, and household income will be assessed.
